Jobcentre Plus respects your privacy and seeks to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998, which meets the standards agreed within the European Union.
The main elements of our Privacy Policy are:
1. We have a legal duty to protect any personal information we collect from you. We will collect and use any personal information in a fair and lawful way
2. Where personal info is collected from you, the purpose for which it is collected and how it will be used will be made clear to you. We will tell you if we propose to pass your personal information on to a third party.
3. The purposes for which we collect or use information about you may include:
A) inviting you to leave an email address , your name or address so that we can contact you with further information;
B) using "click stream" data to analyse use of and movement through the website where you are invited to leave an e-mail address, for example, to contact Jobcentre Plus so that we may reply to you the purpose of that will be made clear to you. Where you do leave an address or email address it will not be used for any other unrelated purpose.
C) if you use the "My choices" or "My favourites" option in the Job search part of the website, any information you enter will be held securely and only used to help you in future searches.
Your information will not be used for any other purpose unless we specifically tell you.
4: We will not keep any personal information about you through devices such as "cookies". Where you are making a job search, we may use a temporary "session cookie" to hold the search options you enter. Any information held in a "session cookie" will not be retained after you have completed your job search session.
5. We will not collect or use more information than we need for any purpose and not keep it for any longer than is necessary;
6. We will ensure that personal information supplied is held securely to prevent unauthorised access or loss or destruction of the information;
7. Personal data will not be transferred to a country or territory outside the EEA.
8. You have the right to request a copy of the personal information JCP holds about you, and have any inaccuracies corrected, (subject to payment of a reasonable fee - include if appropriate);
9. Jobcentre Plus does not share any information it has with organisations for commercial purposes.
10. Jobcentre Plus collects traffic figures to the website for to improve content of the website and understand how users navigate the Jobcentre Plus website. We use cookies to do this. (Cookies are small files of information which save and retrieve information about your visit to the site)
11. Cookies identify you as a number. If you are uncomfortable with this, you can disable cookies on your browser by changing the settings in the preferences or options menu in your browser.
12. We also use technology to collect information such as your internet address which is kept in internet access logs.
