Background: Shop for Jobs is a retail initiative based in the heart of the city's main Broadmead Shopping Centre. It is an access hub for people who are interested in working in the retail and construction sectors.

The initiative is supported by The Bristol Partnership and managed by a Jobcentre Plus, Learning Skills Council, Bristol City Council, Bristol Information and Guidance Service, Regional Development Agency, Retail Skills Network and Dash Training.

Subject: On-Site Bristol (Construction Jobs)

Audience: All Jobseekers

Background: On-Site is a partnership consisting of Jobcentre Plus, Bristol City Council, LSC, and CITB. It comprises of two elements, an apprentice training scheme, administered by Bristol City Council and Learning Skills Council staff, and a vacancy service for experienced construction workers overseen by a Jobcentre Plus member of staff.

The initiative aims to recognise and respond to the needs of the construction industry by providing a supportive quality service to assist people into employment. They have access to a variety of job opportunities across all the major construction trades with small, medium and large sized construction companies.

Subject: Working Communities Team

Audience: All Jobseekers within Neighbourhood Renewal Areas

Background: The Working Communities Team is a specialised team of advisers who offer a free confidential and voluntary service to anyone aged between 16-65 within Neighbourhood Renewal Areas.

They offer a range of help and support including: finding a job, training opportunities, In-work benefits, benefit advice and more.

The team is made up of advisers from Jobcentre Plus who provide an outreach service.
