CHILDCARE PARTNERSHIPS (Linda Driscoll)

The role of the Childcare Partnership Manager is to help Jobcentre Plus customers find accessible, affordable and good quality childcare so they can make the most of opportunities to work, train or study. Their role is also to support the growth of the Childcare sector by working alongside Children's Information services, Early Years Development and Childcare Partnerships, and also support employers in the childcare sector regarding recruitment. They work with other organisations such as NCMA to promote careers in working with children.

We also work in partnership with a wide range of organisations, including other government departments, voluntary organisations and charities. These organisations offer support in the following areas:

  • General Advice and Guidance This includes support for a wide range of issues such as Homelessness, Substance Misuse, Childcare Issues and Debt Management.
  • Jobsearch Advice and Support This includes organisations that offer Jobsearch Advice, CV Writing, Internet access, stationary and access to vacancy information.
  • Self Employment Advice Advice on Self Employment including how to set up in business, useful contacts for example sources of funding, and self employed test trading.
  • Basic Skills and ESOL Access to Basic Skills assessments and community based training. Also offers support for English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
