A number of temporary jobs are on offer throughout the country this Christmas with Royal Mail.

The jobs are mainly for sorters and they will last two or three weeks, starting early December. No formal qualifications are needed and anyone can apply, but this year Royal Mail especially welcome applications from people who have been out of work for some time.

Jackie O'Meara from Jobcentre Plus, who is helping with the recruitment drive, said: "We're delighted to be helping Royal Mail this Christmas. Every year, many people who take on one of these seasonal opportunities end up getting a full-time job… and others use it as a stepping stone back to work. It really could be a great Christmas present for local jobseekers!"
