From today new customers who cannot work due to illness or disability will be able to claim Employment and Support Allowance.

Employment and Support Allowance replaces Incapacity Benefit and Income Support on the grounds of incapacity for new customers only.

If you are currently receiving Incapacity Benefit or Income Support on the grounds of incapacity there will be no changes for you, as long as you continue to meet the requirements.
