With only 86 shopping days before Christmas, Kidderminster Jobcentre Plus is gearing up to help local employers fill their seasonal vacancies by hosting a Christmas Jobsfair on 15th October from 10am to 2pm at their Lower Mill Street office.

More than 150 full and part time jobs will be offer, including retail assistants, catering staff and many more. Most of the jobs are temporary, though some positions may become permanent in the New Year. Employers will include Argos, B&Q, Comet, Currys, H Samuel, Sainsbury’s, Spring Grove House and Ramada Hotel and Resort. Jobcentre Plus staff will also be manning stands on behalf of Wyvern Furniture, Woolworths and North Warwickshire Primary Care Trust.

Colette Addison, vacancy service manager for Kidderminster Jobcentre Plus, today said:

"This is unique opportunity for people looking for work to meet face to face with employers, discuss the posts on offer and complete application forms immediately. This helps speed the recruitment process, allowing employers to find the right people for their vacancies and ensuring our jobseekers are placed into the most suitable jobs in the shortest possible time.

Specialist Jobcentre Plus advisers will also be available to talk to jobseekers about a range of extra help, including support for people aged 50 plus, lone parents wanting to return to work and people with disabilities. They can also give information on the range of financial help that may be available when starting work.
