Ruth says "Bye De Bye" to age discrimination!

Popular Welsh actress Ruth Madoc (61) brought up in Llansamlet is offering her support to Age Positive Cymru, the campaign that tackles age discrimination at work.

Ruth Madoc is passionate about the subject of age discrimination. She has worked and developed friendships with a whole host of actors and actresses of varying ages throughout her career.

Ruth aka Gladys Pugh said:

"I have enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in acting and continue to do so. Age has never been an issue. Working together as a team on sets such as Hi De Hi the age diversity was ever present providing the balance of talent and experience to create a winning combination.

"I think it's tragic that employers today are still discriminating against people based on age and not taking into account the very valuable wealth of experience and knowledge these people have to offer. It's a lot of wasted resource. I hope that the Age Positive campaign achieves its aim of making employers realize how short sighted it is to base recruitment and retention decisions on age as opposed to the individual."
