People in Cambridge have the chance to apply for more than 300 vacancies next week at a major Jobsfair in the city. The Jobsfair, hosted by Cambridge Jobcentre, will take place on Thursday 4th November between 10.00am and 3.30pm at The Guildhall, Cambridge. More than 300 jobs are on offer in a variety of occupations ranging from retail and hospitality to security and the Armed Forces. Cambridge Jobcentre have organised the event to assist local employers fill their seasonal vacancies in the run up to Christmas and people can talk to local employers throughout the day to discuss the positions on offer and answer any queries they may have. Specialist advisers will be on hand throughout the period of the Jobsfair to give help and advice on how to apply and fill in application forms, plus give information on the range of help that may be available when starting work. Peter Davidson, District Marketing Executive for Jobcentre Plus in Cambridgeshire said: “A seasonal job in the run up to Christmas could give people valuable experience or fill a gap in their CV. The event aims to provide our customers with a one-stop shop for Christmas vacancies as well as providing employers with the chance to meet potential employees and promote the benefits of their companies.” He added, “We have full and part time, seasonal and permanent vacancies available, and these positions would suit anyone looking for work, whether they are parents looking to work around school hours, students looking to earn a little extra cash in the run up to Christmas or those looking for permanent employment in one of the various occupations.” Anyone who cannot attend the event or would like more information can contact Cambridge Jobcentre on 01223 545000.
