Direct Payment Roadshow rolls into Wolverhampton
*
*

Shoppers in Wolverhampton will next week be able to join the millions of people enjoying the benefits of having benefits and pensions paid straight into an account.

The Direct Payment Roadshow rolls into Mander Centre Wolverhampton from Monday 27th September until Saturday 2nd October. It is part of a nationwide tour, which will call at town centres and supermarkets across the country encouraging people to make the change before the last order books are sent out.

Visitors to the Roadshow can talk to Direct Payment staff and find out how to take advantage of having benefits paid straight into their bank or building society account or into a Post Office card account.

Chris Pond, Minister responsible for Direct Payments, said:

“Don’t let the Direct Payment Roadshow pass you by. The last order books are being sent out soon so it’s important that people act now.

“We will be writing to everybody to inform them of their choices but why wait to enjoy the advantages of Direct Payment?

“Direct Payment gives greater flexibility and choice to customers in how they manage their money. For example, people can make savings on many of their bills by paying by direct debit.

“Direct Payment staff will be on hand to help people to make the change during their visit to the Roadshow. You can ask questions, get help to fill out forms and apply then and there.”
