A variety of vacancies are on offer in the nursing and care sector through an innovative partnership between Sandwell Jobcentre Plus and Sandwell Mental Health NHS and Social Care Trust.
Jobcentre Plus invites people who ‘care’ for a new career to join them at recruitment roadshow events they are hosting later this month. Smethwick Jobcentre in the High Street will open its doors between 9.00 am to 1.00 pm on Saturday 18th September 2004. The following week, on Thursday 23rd September, the roadshow moves to Queens Square in West Bromwich from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
There are many vacancies on offer from qualified nurses, senior health care support workers, to administration roles.
Emma Reynolds, recruitment co-ordinator for Sandwell Mental Health NHS and Social Care Trust, said:
"We are very pleased to be working in partnership with Jobcentre Plus. The service is very professional and everyone is working so hard to make the recruitment process a success.
"People looking for a caring career are invited to join us at one of the Jobcentre Plus recruitment events to find out about the vast range of jobs available working for an NHS Mental Health Trust. In return, as well as the rewards that come from making a difference to people’s lives, you’ll receive excellent training and development opportunities and flexible working arrangements. If required, there’s also the support of a Childcare Co-ordinator and the option of joining our Childcare Voucher Scheme."
She added:
"We will be joined at the recruitment roadshow by nursing staff, care workers and a Childcare Co-ordinator, who will advise people on their childcare options. In addition, Trust representatives will be on hand to share their experiences in mental health care occupations and discuss specific job roles and career development opportunities."
Anyone is welcome to attend, whether or not they have experience in this type of work, and no appointment is required. For further details jobseekers can ring Diana Hemming at Smethwick Jobcentre on telephone number 0121 480 8876 or Sue Anderson at West Bromwich Jobcentre on telephone number 0121 480 2517.
