Cannock residents will have the opportunity to jump aboard the Jobcentre Plus Jobsbus as it stops off in the town and apply for over 60 local vacancies on offer. Cannock Jobcentre is holding a seasonal Jobsfair on Wednesday 15th September onboard the Jobsbus in Cannock Town Centre, situated by the bandstand, between 9.30am and 4.00pm. Sue Summers, Cannock Jobcentre manager, said: “We have a great selection of full and part time jobs on offer that include either day, evening or weekend shifts. There is a lot of choice and these positions would suit anyone looking for work, whether they are parents looking for a job to fit around school hours or students looking to earn a little extra cash in the run up to Christmas. “Cannock Jobcentre is working in partnership with several local employers, such as Comet and Royal Mail, to find the right people to fill their vacancies. Many of the jobs will be to cover the Christmas period but permanent posts are also available.” She added: “Experience is not always necessary, as full training will be given. Employers are looking for people who are willing to work flexible hours and don’t mind late nights and weekends.” Specialist advisers from Jobcentre Plus will be on hand throughout the day to give help and advice on how to apply and fill in application forms, plus information on the extra financial help that may be available when people start work, such as Working Tax Credit, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit. Anyone interested but who cannot attend the event, or who would like more information, can ring Cannock Jobcentre on 01543 514200 or call the Jobcentre Plus jobs hotline, Jobseeker Direct, on telephone number 0845 60 60 234.
