People in and around Burton on Trent will have the opportunity to apply for a wide variety of vacancies at a jobsfair to be held at the town’s Jobcentre later this month. The New Street based Jobcentre is holding the two-day event on Thursday 16th and Friday 17th September from 10.00am to 6.00pm. Vacancies in retail, leisure, hospitality, clerical, customer service, manufacturing, warehouse distribution and security will be on offer. Andy Murby, business manager at Burton Jobcentre, said: “We have a great selection of jobs that are both full and part time, seasonal and permanent. There are day, evening and weekend shifts available, and these positions would suit anyone looking for work, whether they are parents looking to work around school hours, students looking to earn a little extra cash in the run up to Christmas or those looking for permanent employment in one of the various occupations.” Over 40 local employers will be present at the jobsfair to discuss their vacancies with interested applicants. These include Argos, Beatties, Florette, Queens Hospital, Tesco and Sainsbury’s. Remploy will be recruiting for a number of vacancies suiting the needs of customers with disabilities. Representatives from Toyota will also be looking for production operatives and are offering full training for these posts. Jobcentre Plus advisers will be on hand throughout the period of the jobsfair to give help and advice on how to apply and fill in application forms.
