Wednesbury Jobcentre is issuing an urgent reminder to local people who are interested in a 'caring career'. They are holding an open day at their high street based office this coming Thursday (17 June 2004) between 9.30am to 3.00pm where jobs will be on offer for mobile care workers. The open day is being hosted by Jobcentre Plus for one of the largest domiciliary care organisations in Sandwell called Express Care Services who are based in Wednesbury. They have successfully gained additional contracts and require full and time part mobile care workers staff from across the Sandwell area. This is only the start of their recruitment drive with more new vacancies anticipated as new contracts start. Dawn Taylor from Express Care Services said: "The company provide 24-hour care, 7 days a week for people in their own homes, includes the elderly, disabled and people with mental health and behavioural problems. We are looking for people who truly wish to help others maintain their dignity and independence, who can offer kindness, compassion and have loads of common sense. These characteristics are as important to use as professional qualifications." She added: "Anyone is welcome to attend, whether or not they have experience in this type of work and no appointment is required.
