The Government announced this week that changes will be made to section 8 of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996: the law for employers on preventing illegal working. These will come into force on 1 May 2004.

The draft guidance is available from the Home Office Website and explains the changes, as well as providing employers with advice on what they should do from 1 May 2004 to comply with the new legal requirements.
