80 NEXT vacancies on offer at Jobcentre Plus

Jobcentre Plus is working in partnership with national high street retailer, NEXT, to recruit over 80 staff required for their new store opening later this year in St John’s Retail Park, Wolverhampton.

Full and part time vacancies for sales and stockroom assistants are up for grabs at Jobcentres across the Black Country, offering an hourly salary of £4.72. The company is looking to hold interviews during the first week of April, therefore eager job hunters are advised to contact their local Jobcentre immediately for an application form.

Hillary Clews, business development manager for Wolverhampton Jobcentre, said:

“Previous retail experience is preferred, however full training will be given to suitable people. The store is open 7 days a week, so there are also opportunities for weekend staff too. The Company offers scope for career development and a comprehensive training programme in return for flexibility and a commitment to providing great customer service. Employee benefits include a pension after 6 months of employment, a generous staff discount, paid holiday and a subsidises uniform allowance.”

She added:

“Anyone who is interested in the vacancies is welcome to drop into the Jobcentre for further details of the vacancies on offer and information on how to apply. Specialist Jobcentre Plus advisers will be on hand to discuss the range of help and assistance available when starting work, such as help towards the costs of childcare and advice on in work benefits.”

NEXT, who currently have 360 stores nationally, plan to open 15 to 20 stores annually over the next few years creating hundreds of new jobs. The Wolverhampton store is the third new venture in the Black Country, following NEXT Clearance in the Astle Centre in West Bromwich and another at Oldbury Green Retail Park. The existing Wolverhampton site will remain open, with the new larger branch offering home furnishings, as well as ladies, gents and children’s clothing.
