When Pukka Plants of Hayle contacted Cornwall Action Team for Jobs about their plans to provide placements for people in need of a little extra help to progress into the workplace, Action Team Manager Andy Brelsford was keen to help.

Lack of suitable office equipment was all that was preventing Pukka Plants from getting started. Their aim is to provide, within their commercial plant nursery, a peaceful and safe working environment with an emphasis on working as part of a team.

Andy said “This is just the sort of scheme that is needed to help people build confidence and self esteem and gain key work skills which should help them move towards supporting themselves through employment in the future. I am delighted that a small grant from the Cornwall Action Team will help Pukka Plants start this worthwhile initiative”
