Jobcentre Plus in Staffordshire is working in partnership with the Lichfield based prison
*

Swinfen Hall prison is on the verge of expansion with new prisoner accommodation due to be opened in summer 2004. Jobcentre Plus in Staffordshire is working in partnership with the Lichfield based prison, providing them with support over the next 12 months with their recruitment campaigns.

Full and part time vacancies are on offer for a range of professional occupations such as nurses, psychologists, teachers, and instructors. There are also vacancies for administrative, catering and domestic staff.

Jo Reilly, the Jobcentre Plus vacancies services manager at Lichfield Jobcentre said,

“We are thrilled to be working alongside Swinfen Hall to assist them with their recruitment. There will be lots of exciting and challenging employment opportunities for people who want to make a real difference to young peoples lives. Lichfield Jobcentre Plus is working closely with Swinfen Hall and is ready to take calls. Members of the public who are looking for a new and exciting career change should contact the Jobcentre Plus recruitment hotline as soon as possible to register their interest.”

She added,

“Swinfen Hall are particularly looking for experienced, skilled and semi skilled tradespersons to work within the Estates Group as electricians, plumbers, bricklayers, painters and decorators and a number of other posts.”

There are also training opportunities for anyone with these skills who want to convert their knowledge to work as an instructor, training young people.”

Pete Knapton, the Governor of Swinfen Hall Young Offenders Institution said,

“The Jobcentre Plus prison partnership has been an excellent working arrangement. Jobcentre Plus has and is continuing to help us develop a skilled and caring workforce that will help us to break the offending cycle and get young adult lives back on track. We highly value the support they have given us.”
