Tuesday 13 January 2004 sees the first Training, Education & Employment fair for people in the Meadows area. The event has been organised by the Meadows One Stop Shop and the new Ethnic Minority Outreach Service, which is delivered by the Nottingham & District Racial Equality Council, in partnership with Jobcentre Plus. The special fair will be held at the Youth & Community Centre, Wilford Grove, Meadows, Nottingham, between 10am to 3pm. Avon Edwards, Employment Co-ordinator for the Ethnic Outreach Service said: "This event is the first of it’s kind in the Meadows and is an open invitation to local people to come along and find out what is on offer." "People from the Meadows area have the chance to apply for a wide range of jobs. More than 10 employers are attending the event, including Capital One, N Power, Nottingham Fire Service and Nottingham City Council. They also have the chance to look at training and education, as more than 10 Training Providers and Colleges will also attending the event, including Peoples College, New College Nottingham and Nottingham Learning Skills Council". "There will also be specialist advice on hand on the day to give help and guidance, whether you are looking at education and training or looking for work".
