A flair for performing could be the passport to a job in the sun for wannabe entertainers from the West Midlands. An international agency, working closely with Jobcentre Plus, is scouring the city for people to work as holiday entertainers at resorts in Majorca. The Dutch based company are not looking for "luvvies" but for people who are creative, have a talent for organising and enjoy working with people. Successful applicants will be fully trained and sent in teams to hotels in some of the sun-kissed Spanish island’s top resorts. The jobs, which are a mix of organising and performing daytime and evening entertainment programmes, are to run from April to October this year. Lorraine Morris, a European Employment Service (EURES) Adviser, said that emphasis would be placed on enthusiasm, a liking for sport and an ability to work in a team. Successful applicants will be involved in organising children’s activities, as well as games, sporting events and evening shows and musicals. She went on to say, "This is a wonderful opportunity for the right people. Obviously, we’re keen to receive candidates with previous experience but welcome applications from anyone with an outgoing personality who likes working with people." Candidates must be 18 or over and successful applicants will be given three to four weeks’ full product training by experienced entertainers on their arrival in Majorca, before moving on to their hotel. You do not need to speak Spanish but knowledge of another European language could come in handy. There are also many possibilities to progress within a strong international organisation.
