Thousands of jobs will be on offer at a three-day jobsfair for former MG Rover Group Ltd/Powertrain Ltd, supply chain and Peugeot workers.

The jobsfair, being held at Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham (by Edgbaston cricket ground) on Wednesday 11th, Thursday 12th and Friday 13th May, is being arranged by Jobcentre Plus, on behalf of the MG Rover Taskforce, in partnership with Advantage West Midlands, the Learning and Skills Council and Birmingham City Council.

The Jobcentre Plus MG Rover employer hotline, opened on 18th April, has been notified of over 4,000 vacancies by more than 400 local, national and even international companies keen to employ people from MG Rover and their supply chain, and Peugeot.

Many of these employers will be at the jobsfair to give people the unique opportunity to discuss the positions on offer with them directly. Vacancies on offer include a wide spectrum of occupations such as mechanical engineering, administration and secretarial posts, production and quality engineering, electricians, drivers and machine operatives. Although the jobsfair is principally for employees of the MG Rover/Powertrain/Peugeot group, other unemployed people looking for work are welcome to attend.
