More family-focused employment services would help more parents into work and boost progress towards eradicating child poverty by 2020, according to a report published today by an independent adviser to the DWP. The Government welcomed the report, Delivering on Child Poverty: What would it take? by Lisa Harker, who was appointed by the Department to advise on its work to cut child poverty. Minister for Employment and Welfare Reform Jim Murphy said: “This is a significant part of the process of developing our refreshed child poverty strategy, to be published later this year.”
