Jobcentre Plus is working in partnership with the National Exhibition Group (NEC) to recruit up to 150 temporary event security and stewarding staff for a busy autumn schedule that includes Pink, Little Britain, George Michael, Jasper Carrott and the Horse of the Year show. Interested applicants should attend an open day on Sunday 2nd July between 10.30am and 4pm at Concourse Suite 34, Atrium, NEC. Vacancies on offer include security guards, front of house stewards, concert stewards and traffic officers to work at the NEC, International Convention Centre and National Indoor Arena. Dennis McDonnell, manager of Jobcentre Plus NEC, said: “Anyone who is interested in applying for the vacancies should come to our open day where they can talk to the NEC team about the opportunities on offer. Personal advisers from Jobcentre Plus will be on hand to help with completing application forms.” No experience is necessary for the positions although applicants will need to be aged 18 or over - there is no upper-age limit. Applicants will also need to provide a full ten-year checkable work history (or back to school) and be available for at least four shifts per week. Shift patterns vary between five and twelve hours, days or nights. Training and uniform will be provided. Interested applicants can contact the NEC Jobcentre Plus office on 0121 782 4116 or 4117 for more information.
