Home care workers special event organised by Jobcentre Plus Sunderland
*

Jobseekers in Sunderland and the surrounding areas can apply for jobs as home care workers by coming along to a special event organised by Jobcentre Plus at the Crowtree Leisure Centre on Tuesday 17 April between 10.00am and 12.00pm.

Jobcentre Plus has organised the event to help care company St Martha’s fill a number of current vacancies. The company wants to recruit home care workers in Doxford Park, Farringdon, Ford Estate, Hastings Hill, Hendon, Hill View, Millfield, Pennywell, Plains Farm, Ryhope, Thorney Close and Tunstall.

Full and part-time job opportunities are available, as well as places on a pre-employment training course. Representatives from St Martha’s will be at the event to talk directly to anyone who is interested in applying for any of the jobs on offer. Staff from Jobcentre Plus will also be on hand to give information on the financial support available to move into work.

Margaret Robson, employer consultant at Jobcentre Plus, said:
“The event is an open invitation to local people to come along and find out about the jobs on offer.  People will be able to meet staff from St Martha’s, ask questions about what the work involves and even apply for jobs on the day.

“Vacancies in the care sector are increasing and many people have care experience, through bringing up their families and looking after relatives.  This is an opportunity for training and experience to be gained in a growing sector of today’s jobs market.”
For more information about the event, contact your local Jobcentre Plus Office. People who can’t make it to the event can still apply for any of the jobs by calling Jobseeker Direct on 0845 60 60 234.
