Jobcentre Plus is offering unemployed people in Staffordshire the chance to do a four-week pre-employment training course to learn the skills needed for a career with Alton Towers.
Local residents who are looking to return to work after a career break or illness, or who need extra help and support to get back into work, are invited to attend an information session being held later this month.
The course, run by Jobcentre Plus in partnership with Stoke City Council, starts on 8th March.
Henry Murray, Jobcentre Plus manager, said: “We ran a similar course last year which proved very successful and helped several people find jobs at Britain’s biggest theme park.
“Trainees will learn about customer service, health and safety and interview techniques. Everyone who completes the course is guaranteed an interview with Alton Towers and successful applicants can further develop their skills by taking a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in a relevant subject.”
Interested applicants should call into an information session at either 10am on Monday 20th February at Cheadle Jobcentre in Chapel Street or 1pm on Wednesday 22nd February at MIC House, Forty Trinity Street, Hanley, Stoke on Trent. The sessions will give an overview of the training course and explain further about transport arrangements and advice on childcare and in work benefits. People unable to attend an information session can ring Cheadle Jobcentre on 01538 486300 for more details
