Jobseekers interested in working in the care sector are being invited to attend a special recruitment event at Southwick Jobcentre Plus, Stoney Lane, on Wednesday 9 January between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm. Dozens of jobs will be on offer at the event with companies such as Tyne and Wear Care Alliance and Princess House all looking to recruit in the Sunderland area. Vacancies include care support workers and there are a range of flexible full and part-time shift patterns available. Patricia Dunn from Jobcentre Plus, said: ”January is obviously a popular time for people to look for a new job, with many making resolutions to improve their current situation. For people who have been out of work for a long-time making that first step towards change can be difficult. The event is an open invitation to local people to come along and find out more about working in the care sector and the help available to them. Jobcentre Plus advisers will be on hand to help them apply for vacancies on the day and they will also be able to give information on the financial support available to move into work.” For more information about the event contact Janet Kelly on 0191 382 4088. People who can’t make it can find out more about the jobs on offer by calling Jobcentre Plus on 0845 60 60 234 or visiting the job search page on this website.
