Tesco’s Scotland celebrate creation of 106 employment opportunities in Rutherglen As one of the first five companies to sign up to work in partnership with Government, Tesco’s Scotland recently signed a Local Partnership Agreement with Jim McGonigle, District Manager for Jobcentre Plus Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire at an event in the new Tesco store at Rutherglen on 7 November. Mark Russell, who signed the agreement on behalf of Tesco’s Scotland, was delighted with the successful recruitment arrangements negotiated with Jobcentre Plus, which had resulted in the creation, and the successful filling, of 106 employment opportunities for people who had previously been unable to secure employment in their area. Mark Russell, Tesco store manager at Rutherglen, said: “We are delighted with the help that Jobcentre Plus and the other partner organisations involved have given us during our recent recruitment exercise and are pleased to be involved in the Local Employment Partnership initiative at a local level. This will help us tap into the skills of local people and create a diverse workforce which mirrors the customers we serve.” |
