Privacy PolicyJobcentre Plus will respect your privacy and comply fully with the Data Protection Act 1998 which meets the standards agreed within the European Union.The main elements of our Privacy Policy are: 1. Any personal data will be processed fairly and lawfully. Jobcentre Plus will be responsible for ensuring the site and data are managed securely. 2. Where personal information is sought the purpose for which it is to be used will be made clear to you. Data will not be passed to any other department or site without your permission. 3. Where you are invited to leave an email address, for example, to contact Jobcentre Plus so that we may reply to you the purpose of that will be made clear to you. Where you do leave an address or email address it will not be used for any other unrelated purpose. 4. Where you use any CV Bank we might maintain we shall use your CV and information on it to match against any vacancies we have or for employers or agencies to search against it. We will respect your instructions to restrict the availability of items of personal information (such as your name, address, e mail address or current employer). 5. We will not retain personal information about you through devices such as "cookies". Where you are making a job search, we may use a temporary "session cookie" to hold the search options you enter. Any information held on such a "session cookie" will not be kept after you have ended your job search session. 6. When you make use of the "My Choices" option in the Job Search part of the website, any information you enter will be securely held and only used to help you in future searches. The information will be held on a secure database. Information will not be used for any purpose other than to aid your searches. It will not be passed to any other part of Jobcentre Plus or to any other department or site. You need not use your real name or any other words that might reveal your identity. 7. We may use "clickstream data" to analyse use of and movement through the site. It will only be used to help us manage and improve the site. It will not be used to identify or attempt to track any individual. 8. Any data we seek or hold shall be adequate, relevant and not excessive for the purpose for which it is to be processed. We will not ask for information that is unnecessary. 9. We will take appropriate technical and organisation measures against unauthorised or unlawful access to or processing of any personal data or loss or destruction of data. 10. Personal data will not be transferred to a country or territory outside the European Economic Area (all of which meet the data protection standards of the European Union) without your permission. Where you give us a vacancy whose details include personal information for public display on the website or you submit a CV to any CV Bank we may have we will treat that as your agreement that we may transfer that information outside the European Economic Area to employers or agencies, for example, to the USA. 11.
