At Jobcentre Plus, we provide practical support and financial advice about benefits, tax credits, childcare, training, work and looking for a job. You can also get support, advice and information on local specialist help and organisations for lone parents through the New Deal for Lone Parents programme. About personal advisers

If you contact Jobcentre Plus, you can ask about setting up a meeting with a personal adviser. They can give you advice about finding a job, training, and childcare or extended school care if you need it. They can also work out how much better off you’ll be in a job and tell you about extra help with costs when you’re working.  You may also consider New Deal for Lone Parents, a special programme for parents bringing up children on their own who are interested in working.
