Job Outcome target - helping people into workTarget: 13,500,000 job outcome points. What is the target? The Job Outcome target (JOT) is a new target for 2006-07 replacing the Job Entry target (JET). It changes the way we measure our job outcomes. Under the JET, we needed an auditable link between the actions we had taken and the job start. This took the form of contacting employers to establish that the vacancy was filled by a person referred to the employer by Jobcentre Plus. Under JOT performance is measured by matching Jobcentre Plus customer records with P45/P46 information from Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs on people starting work.*. This means that more job starts are captured including for those individuals who find work through use of an electronic Job Point in one of our Jobcentres or through another self-service channel. This target is designed to help us assist as many people into work as we possibly can, especially people in our Priority Customer Groups, such as lone parents and people with a health condition or disability. *There is a delay in employers notifying HM Revenue and Customs when an employee starts work, therefore there will be a delay of approximately 8 months before we are able to publish final in-month figures for Job Outcome target performance. How does it work?It is based on a points system. Every time we help someone into a job, we earn points towards our Job Outcome target. The higher the priority of the customer, the more points are achieved. For example:
