The Age and Employment Network

Did you know people are working longer - increased life expectancy combined with shortfalls in pension provision mean employees are retiring later? (Acas)

TAEN - The Age and Employment Network is an independent charity operating through a team based in London and a group of regional consultants. Established in 1998 TAEN was formerly known as Third Age Employment Network.

The organisation is supported by Help the Aged and based in their London headquarters at King's Cross. The funding TAEN receives from Help the Aged is an indication of the importance of taking steps in mid-life that prevent future disadvantage and contribute to an active, healthy old age with a satisfactory quality of life.

TAEN is a network of 250 member organisations which represent much of the leading experience on age and employment issues across the UK. Examples of these member organisations include; ACAS, Age Concern England, Barclays PLC, BT, Devon County Council, GlaxoSmithKline, Jobcentre Plus, the Learning and Skills Council, Manpower, NHS Employers, Norwich Union, London Development Agency, the North West Development Agency and PRIME.
