*
*

A completely refurbished contemporary pub and restaurant is opening in Stourbridge later this year, creating over 30 full and part time jobs in the town. Local businessmen Adam Johnson and Ian Wade, new owners of the Seven Stars, are working in partnership with Jobcentre Plus to recruit staff required for their latest venture.

Stourbridge Jobcentre is hosting a recruitment open day for The Seven Stars on Wednesday 3rd November between 10.00am to 4.00pm at their Lower High Street based office. Interested applicants are invited to call into the Jobcentre to meet with representatives from the company, as well as fill in an application form and have and informal interview.

Alison Fleming, business development manager at Stourbridge Jobcentre, said:

"There are various permanent vacancies on offer for bar staff, glass collectors, a second chef, a commis chef and kitchen porters. Full training is provided for suitable applicants, however people applying for the chef vacancies do require some previous experience as well as an appropriate qualification.

The Seven Stars, situated in Brook Road opposite Stourbridge Junction Station, opens to the public as from Wednesday 8th December. Successful applicants will need to be available as from 6th December for training. They are offering competitive rates of pay for the local area, staff uniforms, flexible hours and a delightful work environment."

Adam Johnson, owner of the landmark grade two listed building, said:

"The Seven Stars aims to bring the style and service standards expected from the city centre operations and introduce them to the suburbs. We are working closely with Alison and her team at Stourbridge Jobcentre to ensure that we employ local people who will help us make our business prosper and will have the same vision of excellence as we do."

His business partner, Ian Wade, added:

"We are thrilled to be working with Stourbridge Jobcentre to fill our vacancies at our new business venture and look forward to our relationship growing as our business expands. We are looking for dynamic individuals who will be the public face of our concept, offering the highest quality service in stylish surroundings."

Anyone who is unable to attend the open day and would like further information about the vacancies, can call Alison at Stourbridge Jobcentre on telephone number 01384 554273.
