As the opening of the multi-million pound Debenhams Gateshead MetroCentre store moves closer, the company is getting ready to recruit 700 new members of staff and has called on Gateshead and South Tyneside Jobcentre Plus to fulfil its recruitment needs. The mammoth recruitment campaign will begin in May. The search for 700 members of staff includes recruitment of personnel into key positions of supervisors, permanent customer service staff and temporary team members to join the company in the busy Christmas period. Dave Peebles, Gateshead and South Tyneside Jobcentre Plus District Manager said: "We are delighted to be working in partnership with Debenhams to handle this major recruitment exercise. This is one of the biggest recruitment activities planned for this year and my team are gearing up to cope with the expected heavy interest in the jobs on offer."
