Temporary stays in a care home

This benefit is dealt with by Jobcentre Plus or The Pension Service depending on your age.
- Your Social Services Department (Social Work Department in Scotland) can arrange a short stay in a care home if it will help you or someone who cares for you.
- You may be able to get Income Support for a temporary stay in a home, but the rules are different
- You may also be able to get Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit for your own home, if your stay is temporary. Check with your local council.
