Child Benefit someone gets for youLast updated December 2002This benefit is dealt with by Jobcentre Plus. What is it?
Can someone get it for me?Are you:
If YES to both, Child Benefit may continue to be paid for you. What else should I know?If you have recently come from abroad or returned from abroad, there are some extra rules. Your studies must be supervised for more than 12 hours a week at a school or college. If the person getting Child Benefit for you gets extra money for you on other benefits, this may continue. Child Benefit may also continue for a limited time if you have registered at your Careers Office to find training or work and have not yet been placed. To see if Child Benefit can continue, the person who gets it for you should contact the Child Benefit Centre, giving their Child Benefit reference number. You can get general information about Child Benefit on www.inlandrevenue.gov.uk.
