If you go into a care home or hospital

If you move into a care home, your benefits or Pension Credit are likely to be affected. So, as soon as you move into the care home, you must tell:

If you are in a care home, your local social services department may be able to help pay the fees, and you might be able to get other help. To find out more, contact your social services department through your local council. You can find contact details at www.direct.gov.uk and in your local phone book.

If you are going into or coming out of hospital, you should tell Jobcentre Plus, the pension centre or the Disability Contact and Processing Unit so that you get the support you are entitled to and do not receive an overpayment you have to pay back.
